Description du Cours

A rigorous introduction to microeconomic analysis. We study choice under constraints, firm behavior, market equilibrium, welfare and efficiency, and market failures (externalities, public goods, information). Applications include pricing, auctions, labor markets, and policy evaluation.

Prerequisites

  • Single-variable calculus, basic linear algebra (recommended).

  • Introductory economics.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand how individual consumers make spending decisions.
  • Analyze how firms produce goods and services and set prices.
  • Use graphical and mathematical models to explain economic phenomena.
  • Grasp the role of supply and demand in shaping prices and outcomes.
  • Evaluate the impact of government policies on specific markets.
  • Better understand how individual choices affect the broader economy.
